Hunt #1 (Regular
Bear Hunt): $500 deposit - balance after deposit $1300 (Deposit & balance
refunded if no bear)
Hunt #2 (Regular Bear Hunt with Full Accommodations): $600 deposit - balance after deposit $1750 *Regular Bear Hunts are 2 days guaranteed. *Trophy Bears are no extra charge, just good timing on your part. Guest fees:
You may bring a non-hunting guest along on your hunt for an extra non-refundable
fee of $100.00 for full accommodations. Guest may not carry a fire arm
but may come along and enjoy the hunt.
All deposits are final! If you are unable to make the hunt that you have booked, the deposit may be moved to a different hunt date or time frame at management’s discretion or you may send someone in your place.
For deposit we except Cashier’s check, money order and personal checks. Upon arrival to the hunt site the catch fee becomes due and payable in cash or cashiers check. If your hunt is unsuccessful we will give you back your payment in full. Hunt #1 is where you are responsible for your own lodging and food. (Transportation during the hunt is provided.)
Hunt #2 is where we provide sleeping quarters in a travel trailer with bedding or your own if preferred. There will be electricity, hot shower, stereo system, and plenty of snacks and drinks. Food will be tailored to fit your needs. On the hunt you will have snacks, food and drinks. You will have transportation during the hunt and your bear will be field dressed and hauled out by the help from Clavey River Guide Service. Top quality taxidermy and game processing are available locally. Upon request, we provide delivery of trophies and meat to these businesses.
Photos and video of hunt are extra fees. Gratuities are not mandatory; however, it is customary to tip your guide, cook and skinner if you feel they did a good job for you. Clients are responsible for letting the outfitter know of any special medical and dietary needs prior to trip. Special dietary needs can easily be accommodated with advance notice. It is your responsibility to have your weapon sighted in before arrival. The guide may ask you to place a few well placed rounds at a target to ensure your accuracy. It is also your responsibility to have all of your proper hunting gear including a game bag and/ or cooler(s) to put your game and trophy cape into. Our black bear hunts are conducted on public hunting land. The terrain mostly consists of dense forest. We will hunt with well trained hounds. We will use 4x4 transportation and be on foot only when going to bear trees or special circumstances. The general season for Black Bears opens the 2nd Saturday of September to late December. The season will be closed early if the Department of Fish and Game receives 1700 bear report cards from successful hunters. Licensed tag holders will be notified if this happens. The client is responsible for obtaining the hunting license and game tag before the hunt is conducted. A valid California hunting license and game tag must be in the clients possession during the hunt at all times. Black bear tag applications are available for purchase if you are at least 12 years of age and possess a California hunting license. The bag limit is one adult black bear per season. Cubs and females with cubs may not be taken. A cub is a bear less than one year of age or bears weighing less than 50 pounds. Validation of black bear tags is only permitted by Department of Fish and Game employees. Bear tags must be countersigned before transporting such bear except for the purpose of taking it to the nearest person authorized to countersign the tag. The report card portion of the tag must be returned to the Department of Fish and Game whether a bear was taken or not. Presentation of the black bear skull must occur within 10 days of taking the bear to a Department of Fish and Game employee. The portion of the skull not needed for scientific purposes will be returned. Clavey River Guide Service reserves the right to cancel a hunt at anytime due to emergency closures, quota objectives, adverse weather, or other circumstances beyond Clavey River Guides Service control. At that time a full refund of deposit or amendment of the contract for alternative dates will be made. © Clavey River Guide
